In addition to the virtual telephone system “Digital Phone” also includes a flatrate for calls to all German networks. Companies must have a sufficiently fast Internet connection and suitable terminals. For a two-year term, the basic package with five extensions costs 58.31 euros per month.

As of now, Telefónica O2’s business customer offering in cooperation with Nfon includes a cloud-based telephone system. The target group of ” Digital Phone ” is especially small and medium-sized companies. In addition to the virtual telephone system with “over 160 high-end features”, it also offers flat rates for calls to all German networks.

O2 logoBusinesses need an Internet connection and suitable devices for Digital Phone. According to O2, the initial costs are lower than with a conventional hardware telephone system. In addition, the use of redundant data centers in Germany should offer very high reliability.

Calls can be made using desktop telephones for Internet telephony (Voice over IP, VoIP), a smartphone app and a PC with a web interface or CTI client. Employees can thus always be reachable under the same landline number and their extension – regardless of their current location. If necessary, Digital Phone also includes a secure encryption of calls.

Extensions can be booked at any time or unsubscribe. By paying only for what they really need, companies can cut their phone costs by as much as 50 percent according to O2. A web interface can be used to manage the extension and all functions of the digital telephone system.

Monthly costs the basic package with five extensions and two-year contract 58.31 euros. Customers with a mobile phone contract at O2 and a minimum monthly revenue of € 119 in the three previous billing months receive a 20 percent discount on the monthly base price, which is then € 46.65. For each additional extension with a one-month term 14.28 euros per month are due. In combination with mobile this is 11,42 Euro. The one-time connection fee of the basic package is 117.81 euros and 34.51 euros for each additional extension.

The price includes standard national calls to all German landline and mobile networks, excluding call diversion, conference calls, value-added services and special numbers. The required internet connection (with a bandwidth of at least 100 kbit / s in up- and downstream per extension) must be booked separately. At an additional cost, O2 also supplies suitable hardware such as Snom VoIP phones, Plantronics headsets or Patton VoIP gateways.

“Our new cloud-based PBX is customizable and delivers the highest level of flexibility and cost efficiency in the enterprise,” said Tony Hanway, Chief Commercial Officer, Telefónica Germany. “The biggest advantage, however, are the included flat rates for landline and mobile, this combination is truly unique in the German market.”
